Released in February, ‘Medicinals‘ is the second full length of the Toronto band - primarily solo project for singer/songwriter Taylor Kirk, and a must have in your 2007 folk collection.
“I’m weary of accepting (blues) as my genre,” Taylor confessed to Michael Barclay, “because when I listen to blues-era recordings, it sounds to me like the purest form of musical expression. I couldn’t even tell you about any current blues musicians. I’m mostly listening to the old recordings now, like Son House, Leroy Carr and various Blind Willies.”
