Sometimes I just need to step away from the depressing folk and into a little more uplifting depressing experimental folk. It’s always interesting to see how artist classify them selves, she’s been described as “mainstream” to the likes of Tori Amos, which if you ask me can’t be all that bad. I find LeeRone to be a little bit like a breath of fresh air. She recently sent me her album and I popped it in my car a few days ago. Not only have I not taken it out but now I have everyone I know singing “Care for Some Whiskey”. It’s definitely one of my favorite tracks off this album. She’s recently shot a video for this song that you can view below. If you live in the Los Angeles area on would like to see her perform live she will be playing at The Derby on August 4th. Tickets are only $10.00, what a steal for such great talent.
